Wow...just wow...how to start...well...I'm ticked...because...well...a lot of things...

It was time for the fourth iteration of Gaming @ Your Library, the festive time when our library opens its doors to nothing but snacks, pizza, and video games all day long.  We worked hard and struggled to make sure it happened at the same time as the Spring Blast, a campus-wide event where students are encouraged to enjoy themselves in a time where they can get breaks from classes...but our Student Activities people were a pain in the ass all the way.

Our biggest problem has always been advertising...no matter how well in advance I may have a sign made, something always happens so that it doesn't go up until...like the day of the event.  This time, I had the idea of our student workers each making a sign in their tastes to have multiple advertisements for the same thing...each poster was shot down and corrections were given by the board...we followed said corrections and magical complaints of "The signs are too colorful" and "it's confusing that you're selling pizza" appeared combined with my personal favorite, "Are you aware that this is going to take place at the same time as the Spring Blast?"...but then it gets REALLY annoying when they complain that our event will take away people from their event when it's the SAME DAMN EVENT!

All in all, we don't even GET to advertise this time and worse, they take away our room for an event that DOESN'T EVEN HAPPEN.  We have to set up in the foyer where security is a painful debacle but it goes off pretty well...we commandeer another room and start watching movies in it and it works out well...then closing rolls around and it's time to pack up and some jerkwad grabs our Wii and runs...I have to chase around the parkinglot to catch him with a tackle and he offers a half-hearted, "Sorry man," and gets to drive away...the next day...my boss chastises me for chasing him...something about fearing for my ' personal safety '...or something...


GAH!
